About Me

I'm a blogger and author; a litigator in another lifetime; a former aerobics instructor and; a T.V. host. I was born and raised in the sprawling and bustling city of New Delhi but now I live in the San Francisco-Bay Area.

I worked as a litigator, practicing in state and federal courts until I traded legal briefs for fictional tales. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Delhi University and a JD in Law from John F. Kennedy University, California.

My first book, "Law; What It's All About and How to Get in" was published by Twenty-Twenty Media, a publishing company in New Delhi, India, that brought out a series of 'Dummies' style books in the 90's about different careers open to college grads.

THE RUMMY CLUB is my first novel about the diaspora of East Indian people in the context of twenty-first century America. THE RUMMY CLUB won the 2015 Beverly Hills Book Awards and received three other awards. THE RUMMY CLUB is available on Amazon, on B&N.com, Google Play Books, Indiebound.org, on iBooks on your iPhone, and on this website,. Get your print or digital copy today!

My essays and short stories have been published in Down in the Dirt magazine, in Moon magazine, in Scarlet Leaf Review, and in Green Hills Literary Lantern.

You may also recognize me from the T.V. show "Escapades with Anoop" on WomenNow TV @ KTSF ; San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose; on Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m.
